Choose the details that make the gift yours
- A sky tied to your memory — Choose the date, time and location of the event. Real catalogue stars form the map; your names and message explain why this moment matters.
- See your words before ordering — Compare the six styles and inspect the complete poster preview, including the date, location and names, before paying.
- Download or choose a print — The €3.99 digital option is a PNG HD file. Printed A3 and A2 posters and a wooden frame are separate options, checked for your destination.
Choose a moment the recipient will recognise
The most useful starting point is a shared memory: the evening you met, a wedding celebration, a child's arrival or a trip that changed your plans. Choose the place where it happened, rather than your current address. If you are giving the poster as a surprise, check the date from something you already share, such as an invitation or a photograph. A short line explaining the occasion gives the sky a personal meaning without needing a long dedication.
See what your star map represents
The stars use the HYG astronomical catalogue and planetary calculations use Astronomy Engine. The selected date, time and location determine the calculation. The catalogue's total number of entries is not the number of stars shown on a particular poster. The result is a designed sky map, not a photograph of the weather that evening. Check the astronomical details in the actual poster preview along with the colours and typography, especially if a particular constellation is important to your gift.
Give a digital file or a printed keepsake
Choose the digital option if you want to share the original image yourself or arrange your own printing. After payment validation, download and open the PNG HD on the website. It measures 4960 × 7016 pixels at 300 DPI and has no watermark. If you want a delivered object, compare the A3 and A2 poster options or a wooden frame in the configurator. Check your destination and the final total before paying; the digital price does not cover printing, a frame or postage.
Let the message explain the sky
A title such as ‘The night our story began’ can sit above the names and date, while one sentence recalls a real detail from the evening. This is a writing suggestion, not a customer quotation. Try the available styles with the same wording so you can compare them fairly. Leave room around the names and check that the lower part of the poster remains easy to read on a phone. You can refine the design before choosing your purchase option.
A sky poster or a star certificate?
Choose the poster when the occasion is anchored to a date and location: it shows a whole sky with your text. Choose the separate star certificate when you want to select one catalogued star, give it a gift name and record an assignment in the private Starry Memory registry. That offer provides a numbered PDF certificate and observing guide after payment and assignment are confirmed. It does not transfer ownership of the celestial object or change its official astronomical name. The two products can be given together through separate purchases.
Frequently asked questions
What does the €3.99 option include?
A watermark-free PNG HD poster, 4960 × 7016 pixels at 300 DPI, downloadable on the website after payment validation. It does not include a frame or postal delivery.
Can I order a printed star map?
Yes. An A3 poster is €39.90, A2 is €54.90 and a wooden frame starts at €134.90. Format availability, delivery conditions and any destination supplement are shown before payment.
Does a star map name or register a star?
A star map represents the sky for your date and place. Naming a star in the private Starry Memory registry with a personalised PDF certificate is a separate product; the poster purchase does not include that service.
What if I do not know the exact time?
You can choose a reference time and state that it is approximate. The map is calculated from that input, so it should not be described as a verified record of an unknown birth or meeting time.
