What to decide before ordering

Start with one memory rather than a perfect quotation

The character count in a text field does not tell you everything: wide letters, punctuation and line breaks affect the layout. Review the complete poster, not just the form you filled in. Check that the message still feels natural when you read it aloud and that the wording suits your relationship.
Compare the six styles with your actual words
Try the available styles while keeping your wording unchanged. This makes it easier to judge contrast and balance instead of changing everything at once. A restrained colour scheme can work for a romantic gift; the recipient’s room and preferences matter more than an assumed occasion colour. On a phone, inspect the lower part of the composition as well as the sky. The names and message need enough visual space. Keep the sky details consistent with the story
If your message says ‘Our first night in Lisbon’, use the chosen location and date for that memory rather than your current address. Check the time and its local context too. HYG catalogue positions underpin the stars, while Astronomy Engine is used for planetary calculations; a catalogue’s total number of entries is not the number of points shown on every poster. Your words do not change the stars’ positions. A constellation associated with an astrological sign is not guaranteed to be above the horizon at the selected time. Explain an approximate time rather than describing it as a verified instant.

Proofread the gift as the recipient will see it
Check spelling, accents, name order, date and punctuation before payment. For a bilingual dedication, two short sentences may work better than a long translation repeated in full. Check the actual characters in the preview rather than assuming every script or emoji will look as it does on your keyboard. Read the line without looking at your notes: if it sounds unlike you, simplify it. Once you have chosen a support, inspect the whole composition and the final amount again. Keep your original wording so you can compare it with the downloaded file before printing or sharing the gift.
