How precise is the time?
Star positions move very slowly — even a 10-minute uncertainty in the birth time produces a visually identical chart. So even if the official time on the birth certificate is approximate, the result is faithful to that night.

How to present your Starry Memory poster
Three approaches that work. (1) The surprise print: order the digital file at €3.99, print it at home on heavy paper or get it printed at a photo shop (any local print store, Walgreens, CVS, Walmart Photo) — A4, A3 or A2 sizes depending on the target wall. Slip it into a simple frame, wrap it. (2) The intro screen: send the digital file first by email with a personal message, then announce the print to come. Ideal for far-away recipients. (3) The double gift: first give an A4 printed version for the desk, then an A2 framed version for the living room — shows attention to duration. For this occasion, approach (1) is the most effective: maximum surprise effect, minimum cost.
Printing & sizing: everything you need to know
The PNG measures 4960 × 7016 pixels. This provides about 300 pixels per inch at A2 (42 × 59.4 cm). At 70 × 100 cm, the density is about 178–180 pixels per inch; the proportions differ slightly, so choose margins or cropping. For a large print, check the result and settings with your printer. Enlarging the file does not add detail. For this occasion, here are our size recommendations: A4 (8.3 × 11.7 in) for a desk or small shelf; A3 (11.7 × 16.5 in) for a standard bedroom wall; A2 for a main living room; A1 for an accent wall in a high-ceiling space. Can we add the baby's weight and time?
Yes — name, date, time of birth, weight, length, hospital name and city — all customisable in the legend below the chart.
What if I don't know the exact birth time?
Even a one-hour window is fine. The star positions barely shift. We default to noon if you leave it blank, but the hospital will have the exact time on the birth certificate.
Do you ship to the UK / US / Canada / Australia?
Yes. The digital file is available worldwide. Physical delivery is offered to supported destinations; physical format availability, delivery timing and any supplement are checked for your destination before payment.
Best size for a nursery wall?
We recommend A2 (42×59 cm / 16.5×23.4 in) for a feature wall, or A3 for a quieter accent. The 4960×7016 px file supports up to A1 with a pixel density that depends on the print size.
How does the 3D sky exploration work?
On the website, the immersive experience gives free access to an interactive web planetarium, before or after ordering. You can rotate the celestial sphere, zoom into any constellation, recognise the bright named stars. No installation required — works on smartphone, tablet or computer.
Does the poster work for a future date?
Yes — we can compute the sky up to 2100. The computation remains accurate, as star positions change very slowly on a human timescale.
